• Picture in a Frame is the story of my mission to photograph Pearl Jam frontman, Eddie Vedder.

  • From Adelaide, South Australia, I had to figure out how to get Eddie’s attention in Seattle. I came up with the idea of an advent-style social media campaign which ran for three months. When it came to naming the campaign, literal was best, and I called it:

I Want to Take a Portrait of Eddie Vedder.

  • The campaign was quirky and I took a risk but it remains one of my most rewarding creative experiences to date. I was successful.

  • After the portrait session with Eddie, I wanted to write a book about it. I set up a Kickstarter fund and raised over $12,000. The money went to production and distribution costs.

  • The book is an 8″x10″ hardcover publication that showcases the gritty black-and-white photographs from the internet campaign. It also includes outtake shots, campaign notes and a selection of never-before-seen photographs from the final portrait session.

Of all the gorgeous projects that I’ve kicked in for via Kickstarter, ‘I Want To Take A Portrait Of Eddie Vedder’ is perhaps one of the more quirky but certainly one of the most endearing and fist pumpingly inspiring projects I’ve seen.
